When I was about 16 years old, outside of our favorite coffee shop, my grandfather ruined my life.
Well, no. He did not actually ruin my life. That’s just what I thought at the time. He and I were enjoying an “extra hot” cup of coffee and a conversation about a tough situation I was dealing with at the time, when he told me, “You cannot be afraid to say what needs to be said even if you’re hated for doing it.” He went on to add what changed my life, “no matter what it is in life if you tolerate it, you promote it.” With those words, took the bliss out of my ignorance and he was saving my soul.
